Overview
The content of this article is aimed at Suppliers using Purchase-to-Pay (formerly known as Trade Simple).
If there is ever a discrepancy between an invoice and what was receipted at the site, Purchase to Pay (TradeSimple) automatically raises a Credit Request, seen in Fig.1.
Most customers would expect requests for credits to be resolved within an agreed time from when they were raised. This would be agreed as part of the initial project plan.
The options for resolution are to Agree or Respond.
Responding to a Request for Credit
As with all documents in Purchase to Pay, there is an option to Accept, Amend or Reject lines on a credit request, and a field to enter relevant text.
Issuing Credit Notes
Once a credit request has been resolved, a Credit Note will still need to be issued.
This opens the Credit Screen where there are fields which need populating with reference numbers. As with invoices, the electronic version must match the paper copy exactly.
The Credit Note itself features every line from the original invoice, with the option to remove lines one by one.
The option to adjust quantities or prices is also available.
