Allow Salary Decreases via Salary Request Workflow
- Enabled by default? - Yes
- Set up by customer admin? - Yes
- Enable via support ticket? - No
- Affects configuration or data? - No
What's Changing?
A new setting has been added to the Salary Request Workflow configuration to allow salary decreases.
Reason for the Change
Previously, salary decreases applied as part of the Salary Request Workflow would only work if the setting 'Allow more than one mid period change in the same period?' in the Payroll Modules global setting was enabled.
This enhancement allows salary decreases to happen regardless of this setting being applied.
More information on the Payroll Module global setting can be found in this article.
Customers Affected
All customers using the HR and Payroll modules, and the Salary Request Workflow functionality.
Release Note Info/Steps
Information on the Salary Request Workflow can be found in this article.
When configuring a new or existing Salary Request Workflow, there is a new option labelled Allow Salary Decrease Requests.
- Go to HR > Company Admin > Salary Request Workflow
- The new option Allow Salary Decrease Requests can then be enabled and Saved
Fig.4 - Salary Request Workflow - new option to allow salary decreases
Enabling this setting as part of a Salary Request Workflow configuration will mean that Salary Decreases will process as expected when approved. The calculation of employee salaries in payroll will reflect correctly based on the effective date of the salary change regardless of whether the Payroll module Global Setting referenced above is enabled or not.
