What’s Changing?
Redesign of the Rota module’s user interface.
Reason for the Change
To give the product a more modern look and feel, and to improve the overall user experience.
Modules Affected
The new user interface is available for the Rota, HR, Tronc, Tronc 2, Pension, and Scheduling modules. Other modules will follow in the future.
Please note: The new User Interface will default to 'Off' for all portals that do not already have the new UI enabled. To get it enabled, please liaise with your Fourth contact.
Release Notes
All functionality within the system will remain the same. The main changes are outlined in the detail below.
View Rotas
- Access the Rota module and go to Rotas > View Rotas > Search
The existing UI displays each open rota, with their date and week number.

The new UI displays a new quick view, showing whether days are completed (green tick) in the rota weeks or not (red cross).

When a rota week is selected, the Rota Summary view is displayed.
The options to change the rota Status will move to the top of the rota page in the new UI (see Fig.4). It currently displays below the rota metrics information in the existing UI (see Fig.3)

Day Content Page
- To view the Rota Day Content page, from the rota week summary, select the required day from the top of the shifts section
Differences between old and new UI versions can be seen below in Fig.5 and Fig.6.

To align the look and functionality of these pages with the rest of the Workforce Management solution, improving the overall user experience.

View Rotas
- Access the Rota module and go to Rotas > View Rotas > Search
The existing UI displays each open rota, with their date and week number.

An enhancement has been made in order to give the user a quick view of the status of each day within the specific rota. Completed days are displayed as either a tick or a cross

Rota Week View
- Access the Rota module and go to Rotas > View Rotas > Search > Select Rota
The existing UI displays the metrics at the top of the screen, and Employee shift information at the bottom.

Clear boxes and colours have been added in order to make the important areas more visible to the user

Day Content Screen
- Access the Rota module and go to Rotas > View Rotas > Search > Select Rota > Select Day link
The existing UI is shown below

The page has been split into clear blocks in order to make each section clear to the user.
Boxes for Absence, Warning, Comments have been replaced with icons
