Overview
An Outlet with transactions against it cannot be deleted. However, it is now possible (as of 14th (EMEA & APAC) & 16th (NA) April 2026) to deactivate Outlets if required. When an Outlet is deactivated, it will no longer be available for selection when creating new transactions, though all existing transactions will be unaffected. Reporting is also unaffected and will return data for all Outlets, regardless of their status.
Process
An Outlet can be deactivated in two ways:
- From the main Outlet page - go to Property > Setup > Locations > Outlets
By default, this page will only show active Outlets. However, all Outlets can be seen by changing the filtering on the Active column (to show active, inactive, or all Outlets)
- Right-click on an Outlet and select Deactivate (a Reactivate option will be available here for deactivated Outlets)
- Alternatively, an Outlet can be deactivated or reactivated from within the Outlet form
When deactivating an Outlet, the system will check the following:
- Is the Outlet designated as the property storeroom?
- Is the Outlet set as the default Outlet for requisitions in Property > Administration > Requisition?
- Is the Outlet included in any active standing order templates?
- Is the Outlet used as the preparing Outlet for any recipes?
- Is the Outlet used in an inter-property vendor interface in any other property?
If any of the above are true, the user will be given the options as shown in Fig.4.
- Deactivate anyway - as the active/inactive status of an Outlet only impacts the user selection of an Outlet, it can be deactivated even if any of the above are true. This is information only.
- Show me where it is used - will show a report of where the Outlet is used (see Fig.5). For information only, giving the opportunity to "clean up" references to the Outlet before deactivation if required
- Cancel - will not deactivate the Outlet
