Overview
The Purchasing & Inventory (Adaco) Mobile Application can be used to record physical inventory counts, create or issue outlet requisitions and create purchase requisitions, all of which is based on identifying products using the built-in bar code scanner. To facilitate this there is a two-way synchronisation of data between the handheld scanner and the Adaco WCF service residing on the Adaco hosted servers. The synchronisation of data is user-initiated and can be either a full two-way sync or a one-way upload from the handheld device to the service.
One-Way Upload
During a one way upload the following data is uploaded to the Adaco server:
-
Any inventory counts recorded on the device including outlet number, item number, counted unit and quantity
-
Any outlet requisitions recorded on the device including from and to outlet numbers, item numbers, quantities and expected dates
-
Any purchase requisition recorded on the device including outlet numbers, item numbers, quantities and expected dates
-
Any new bar code associations including item number, unit, bar code symbology, bar code value
Full Synchronisation
During a full synchronisation the following data is passed from the Adaco server to the handheld device:
-
Products (number, description, UoMs but no cost or vendor information)
-
Bar Codes
-
Outlets
-
Delivery addresses
-
Outlet Requisitions awaiting issue
The data is exchanged between the server and the device over either http or https (as configured in the handheld device) so access to ports 80 or 443 are required accordingly.
