    HS Mobile Apps: Add a shift to unscheduled employee

    Overview

    If an employee does not already have a shift scheduled for a day, you can add one directly from the Roster in the HotSchedules mobile app.

    This feature is available on both iOS and Android devices running version 4.99.0 or later.

    Note: You can only add shifts to schedules that have already been posted.

    Add a Shift to an Unscheduled Employee

    1. Open the Roster tab.
    2. Navigate to the date where you want to add the shift.
    3. Start creating a new shift:
      • iOS: Tap the + icon next to the Filter icon.
      • Android: Tap the + button in the lower-right corner.
    4. Select the employee you want to schedule.

    1. Enter the shift details, including:

    • Start time

    • End time
    • Schedule
    • Job
    • Location (if applicable)
    1. Save the shift:
    • iOS: Tap Save.
    • Android: Tap the ✓ (check mark).

    Notes

    • Employees must not already have a scheduled shift for the selected day.
    • Shifts can only be added to posted schedules.
    • The available schedules, jobs, and locations depend on your site's configuration and your user permissions.

    Hi Josh Griffin,

    As long as the schedule is posted and you have the correct permissions, you should be able to add a shift to an unscheduled employee. Your comment suggests that you have successfully done this before, so we can probably rule out the permissions being the cause. We recommend that you make sure that the schedule is posted and try again. If you still experience the issue, please let us know and confirm which platform you are using as well. Thank you.

    Using the HS Team App, wondering if corporate removed the permission set for this then cause it was working up until the changes made on the app which changed a lot of stuff... having to get on a computer just to moved or edit shifts after being posted is kind-of annoying so sounds like it's not on your end then...
