There are currently three features on the Home tab, and one that can be found in the Settings tab that HotSchedules will soon be discontinuing. This article will cover what features are scheduled for deprecation, why we’re doing this, and how it could impact your company and site.
What Does This Mean?
As of January 15th, 2018, HotSchedules will no longer support issues exclusively pertaining to the Customer Referral widget, Yammer Link widget, and the Twitter/Tweet-Your-Next-Shift-Information widget on the Home tab, or the use of Premade Avatars in the Settings tab. You will still be able to access and use the features until April 9th, 2018, at which point, they will be removed from the site entirely.
Why is HotSchedules Removing These?
Technology and customer needs change quickly, and we understand that it could impact your business. With that in mind, we have been fairly conservative about which features we deprecate or discontinue support for.
In order to deliver new features to you - and continue to support the features you love - with the best experience possible, we need to be mindful of the tools and features that are no longer being used on a wide-scale level.

Am I Affected?
If your company currently uses any of these features, then yes. Don’t worry though! As mentioned above you will still be able to access each feature through April 9th, 2018, however, we will be unable to support issues unique to each you may experience after January 15th, 2018.
What Do I Need to Do?
To assure the best user-experience possible, we recommend the following for each feature that will soon be discontinued:
- Customer Referral - Nothing needs to be done with this one. We would still love for you to refer your friends to us, but instead of completing a form online, just shoot us an email at contactcenter@hotschedules.com or call us at 866-753-3853. We’ll do the rest!
- Yammer Link - This was built for a specific customer who no longer needs it, but if by chance your company is using it, we suggest sending out a Broadcast Message informing your team to log into the Yammer site outside of HotSchedules.
- Twitter/Tweet Next Shift Information Widgets - We all love hashtags and tiny URLs, but if you’re looking to send your next shift to your followers, you’ll have to get creative. You can download the HotSchedules mobile app, take a screenshot of your week’s schedule and attach it to your next tweet manually, or you can always send a text message or make a phone call. Unfortunately the United States Postal Service might not be the best option for you.
- Premade Avatars - Although you won’t be able to use the system-provided avatars for your profile, with the right permissions and configurations, you and your team can still use our Profile Picture tool. Employees can upload a photo, and managers can then approve or deny the photo before it will be displayed. For more information on the approval process, click here.
What Happens if I Don't Act in Time?
As mentioned above, if your company is currently configured to access any of the aforementioned features, they will still be accessible, however, we will be unable to support any issues you experience with them after January 15th, 2018 and you will not be able to access them at all after April 9th, 2018.
