What's Changing?
Push notifications will now be sent when a broadcast message is copied and posted.
Reason for the Change
Prior to this change, push notifications were sent only when posting a new broadcast message, not when an existing one was copied. This could result in broadcast messages being missed.
Customers Affected
All iOS and Android mobile users.
Android & iOS: Implementation Viewed Flag for Broadcast Messages Functionality
- Enabled by Default? - Yes
- Set up by customer Admin? - No
- Enable via Support ticket? - No
- Affects configuration or data? - No
- Roles Affected: - All mobile users
What's Changing?
Broadcast messages will now display in a similar manner as preloads for our mobile devices. Users will see these broadcast messages without having to log back in.
Reason for the Change
This change will resolve a gap in broadcast messages in the application. Currently, broadcast messages can be "missed" because the user does not "close" the app and instead leaves the app open on their phone. Additionally, the display on iOS is different from Android with an icon we all thought was a Wi-Fi signal reference, whereas Android has a banner that is difficult to miss.
Customers Affected
All iOS and Android mobile users.
Release Notes
Android
- Updated the Broadcast messages to include the title of the message (could be seen in web but not mobile)
Increased the font size - Removed the yellow background from the messages
iOS
- Flag previous viewed broadcast messages as "viewed"
- Viewed broadcast messages moved from the banner to the bell icon while they are still active
