Meal and Break Planning- Earliest/Latest Start Time
- Enabled by Default? - Yes
- Set up by customer Admin? - No
- Enable via Support ticket? - No
- Affects configuration or data? - No
- Roles Affected: - ASC Configuration
What's Changing?
This feature introduces optional "Earliest" and "Latest” Start Time attributes to Meal and Break Planning when “Apply Meals/Breaks to Shifts” is enabled, and updates the Meal and Break Planning algorithm to limit meal placement based on the Earliest and/or Latest Start Time.
Reason for the Change
The updated Meal and Break Planning algorithm gives users more control over when a meal can or must be taken. Utilizing the "earliest" and "latest" times helps keep meals more central to the shift segment. This will help resolve issues where meals might otherwise be automatically applied late in the shift, after it was required to be taken by law.
These changes to not apply to Breaks
Customers Affected
All customers using Meal and Break Planning where the rule set is configured to “Apply Meals/Breaks to Shifts.”
Release Note Info/Steps
- If a Meal and Break Planning rule set is configured to “Apply Meals/Breaks to Shifts” the “Earliest Start Time” and “Latest Start Time” optional fields are available to be assigned to Meals in the rule set. Each optional field can be configured in hours and 15-minute increments.
- An Earliest Start Time will keep meals from being automatically allocated before the defined hours/minutes after shift start. For example an Earliest Start Time of 45 minutes would limit the meal start placement to 1:45pm or later if the shift starts at 1:00pm.
- A Latest Start Time will keep meals from being automatically allocated after the defined hours/minutes before shift end. For example a Latest Start Time of 1 hour would limit meal start placement to 4pm or earlier if the shift ends at 5pm.
