Why is the employee's Social Security Number missing from the I-9?
During the Onboarding process, employees are able to select that the SSN has been applied for but is not yet available.
This is related to the workflow for I-9 receipts. Snagajob is required to allow the employee to indicate that they have applied for an SSN if they have a receipt, but they do not have their Social Security number yet.
Can this option be disabled?
No, this feature cannot be disabled. we are legally required to provide this option to all employees.
We have added a warning to this section (see image above) in an effort to prevent the employee from selecting this option in error.
How can the employee add the social to their I-9 after it has already been submitted?
The I-9 will need to be sent back to the employee for corrections. Click here for further instruction.
