Release date: November 24th 2021
Star Rating Candidate Applications
- Enabled by Default? - No
- Set up by customer Admin? - No
- Enable via Support ticket? - Yes
- Affects configuration or data? - No
What's Changing?
New functionality for managers to utilise a 5-star rating model to rate candidate applications.
Reason for the Change
To enable managers to process candidate applications much more quickly and efficiently, particularly when processing high-volume job applications for specific vacancies.
Customers Affected
All ATS customers.
Please note: The Star Rating functionality is disabled by default for all customers. This is to ensure customers have sufficient time to define their 5-star rating model and communicate it out to their users before enabling the rating system. It is highly recommended that customers provide the definitions for the rating model within the 'Welcome Board' so all users have easy access to this information.
To enable the Star Rating functionality please raise a ticket and request via Fourth Support.
Star Rating Candidate Applications
Star Ratings are used as a qualitative assessment of a candidate application that can be used in conjunction with Application Scoring, which provides a quantitative assessment of candidate suitability. Together, Star Rating and Application Scoring can help managers prioritise candidates for progression to subsequent stages of a vacancy.
Star Ratings are 'shared attributes' of applications, so can be viewed and updated by all users who have permission to view candidate applications.
Star Ratings continuously follow candidate applications from 'Application Review' all the way through to 'Onboarding' steps within a process. A Star Rating assigned in 'Application Review' will remain when the candidate is progressed to the second step in the process, but can be updated should the hiring manager decide to.
Star Ratings can be assigned via the Dashboard, Vacancy cards, or Candidate Application pages.
Star Ratings via the Dashboard
A new 'Rating' column has been added to the Dashboard list view, as shown in Fig.1.
To apply a Star Rating against an application in the Dashboard page:
- Log in/access ATS and go to the Dashboard
- Select any step within the process
- Against a candidate application, select the desired number of stars

The two filters can be used individually or together.
