Labor Main
-
Nevada Daily Overtime Updated
HotSchedules now automatically applies Nevada’s daily overtime rules according to each store’s minimum wage. Employees earning more than 1.5× the store’s minimum wage are automatically excluded from daily overtime calculations. This enhancement ensures ongoing compliance and reduces the need for manual adjustments in ASC.
-
ASC Permissions – Updated Navigation
ASC permissions have been reorganized to provide a more intuitive and efficient navigation experience. Permissions previously found under the Configure menu are now grouped by workflow, making it faster and easier to locate and manage settings.
-
Punch Record – Default View Preference
Users can now set a preferred default view for punch records; either By Day or By Pay Period. HotSchedules will remember this selection, providing a faster, more streamlined, and personalized experience when reviewing punch data.
Nevada Daily Overtime Rate Exclusion
To make payroll management easier and ensure compliance with Nevada wage laws, the Above Store Console (ASC) now automatically validates each store’s assigned minimum wage when calculating daily overtime eligibility.
This improvement is enabled by default, no setup or support ticket is required. It automatically applies to all Payroll and Time & Attendance users in the ASC.
With this enhancement, the system uses your store’s assigned minimum wage to calculate the daily overtime exclusion threshold at 1.5× the minimum wage rate. Employees earning below this threshold are included in daily overtime calculations, while those earning above it are excluded from daily overtime but remain eligible for weekly overtime.
Example:
If your store’s minimum wage is $20/hour, the system will automatically set the daily overtime threshold at $30/hour (calculated as $20 × 1.5). Employees earning less than $30/hour will be included in daily overtime; those earning more will only accrue weekly overtime.
You can view and manage this rule in the ASC under:
Time & Attendance → Pay Rule → Week 40/Day 8 [NV 24 Hour Rolling]
ASC Permissions – Updated Navigation
To make navigation more intuitive, several Above Store Console (ASC) permissions have been reorganized into clearer, more relevant sections.
This enhancement is enabled by default, no setup or support is needed. It applies automatically to all ASC Admins and does not affect any existing configurations or data.
What’s New:
Meal Break Planning Permission is now located under Scheduling for easier access.
Tips & Sales Automated Report Permission has moved to Above Store Reports.
Login Report Permission is now also under Above Store Reports.
All existing permission assignments remain unchanged, admins will simply find these permissions in their new, more logical locations.
Punch Record – Default View Preference
To help managers and admins review time records more efficiently, HotSchedules now lets each user set a personal default view for punch records, either By Day or By Pay Period.
This enhancement is enabled by default, no setup or support ticket is required, and preferences are saved per user, so everyone can work the way that suits them best.
What’s New:
Choose to view punch data By Day (showing the previous day’s records with easy navigation between days) or By Pay Period (showing the current pay period by default).
Your selection is remembered automatically and stays in place until you decide to change it.
Switching between views is seamless and does not affect performance or other users.
How to Set Your Preference:
Go to Staff → Punch Record → Select Default View (By Day / By Pay Period).
Once selected, your Punch Record screen will always open in your preferred view, making time review faster and more personalized.
