What's Changing?

This update modifies the ADP Report so that tips-related earnings are now displayed in the same row as the regular hours and temp rate associated with the job that generated those tips. This change ensures that all relevant earnings data for an employee’s shift is visually grouped together, making the report easier to read and interpret. The enhancement is only applied when “ADP_EARNING_5_BY_COLUMNS” is enabled, and all other behaviors established by that functionality remain unchanged.

Reason for the Change

By organizing tips data alongside the corresponding shift details in the same row, this adjustment enhances visual clarity, reduces file size, and streamlines the payroll reconciliation process

• Feature Enablement:
  • This enhancement will be automatically visible when the “ADP_EARNINGS_5_BY_COLUMNS” feature is enabled via the HotSchedules Support site.
• Data Grouping Example
  • A single row now includes:
    • Employee ID, Temp Rate, Reg Hours, and Associated tips (e.g., CC Tips, SVC, Tip Pool, T)
• Regression
  • All other behavior from the original tips by columns functionality remains intact.

GET Timecards v5 Improvement | Prevent Error When a Job is Removed

What's Changing?

Previously, when an employee had a job removed from their record, any punches associated with that job could cause the GET Timecards v5 API to return an error.

Now, the API has been updated to handle these cases effectively, ensuring that historical punches remain accessible even if the job has been removed from the employee's profile. This logic aligns with the behavior already implemented in the HS Payroll Report, ensuring historical pay rate data remains intact and eliminating errors caused by missing job references.

This update ensures that historical data remains accessible and unchanged, preventing data loss or corruption and improving system stability for payroll and reporting processes.

System administrators and developers who use the GET Timecards v5 API to retrieve timecard data.

• The GET Timecards v5 API now properly retrieves historical punches even when a job has been removed from an employee’s record.
• No changes are made to how jobs are assigned or removed—only API retrieval behavior is improved.
• This enhancement does not cause any changes to the methods contract itself.
