What's Changing?
This change updates the Apply Regular Schedule, Auto-Post Regular Schedule, and Work Schedule Variance to exclude shifts from an employee’s Work Schedule when a store uses Special Hours to close the business for the entire day.
For example, if a store were to establish a Store Special Hours All Day Closure for New Year’s Day 1/1/2024, no shifts would be created for 1/1/2024 when applying the Regular Schedule for the week including 1/1/2024. Employees can still be manually scheduled on a day flagged as closed.
Reason for the Change
When applying a Regular schedule as a Work Schedule, shifts that fall outside business hours due to business closure for holidays or other allowed business reasons, can be excluded from an employee’s Work Schedule without counting towards as a Work Schedule variance, and without the need for employee consent for the reduction to their regular scheduled hours in accordance with New York City Fair Work Week rules.
Customers Affected
All customers using Regular Schedules.
Release Note Info/Steps
When a business is closed for the entire day via Store Special Hours:
Regular Schedule shifts (for an employee) which include the day in which the business is fully closed are excluded from the employee work schedules when a Work Schedule is generated from a Regular Schedule.
Shifts excluded from an employee Work Schedule because the business will be closed do not require consent and are not considered a Work Schedule variance for the schedule week.
Shifts added to Work Schedule on a day the business will be closed are evaluated against the employee's Regular Schedule hours to determine whether or not consent may be required.
Note: This feature only applies to full-day closure. Partial day closures are not supported at this time.
