Note: This article is for the new scheduler interface. If you are not yet using this version of the scheduler, please refer to the collection of articles here.
The New Scheduler now displays schedule alerts. These will appear when you do the following:
- Schedule someone outside of their availability.
- Schedule someone overtime.
When selected, schedules alerts will display the date and the reason for the alert.
To view Schedule Warnings follow these steps:
- Log into HotSchedules and go to the Scheduling tab. Regardless of the view you have selected, Schedule alerts for the week being viewed will show as a red dot to the right of the employees name. The number inside this red dot will be the number of schedule alerts tied to that staff member. Selecting this dot will display each alert, along with information as to why it appeared.
- Any shifts that caused the alerts to appear will be highlighted in the scheduler while this menu is open.
- Schedule alerts can be turned on and off by selecting the wrench icon at the top right corner of the scheduler and choosing Settings.
- The alerts will display under Alert Settings

I followed the instructions in this article and was able to clear the overtime alert while making a schedule but the shifts still appear in red. How do I make it not appear in red, especially for Managers who work longer than the default shift length?
Hi Mpatjones,
Thank you for the comment! I hope you're having a good day today. Unfortunately, disabling the overtime warning will not change the color of the shift. It only removes the button from the employee's name. I apologize for any inconvenience this creates.
