Overview
When scheduling you may see a prompt stating, Forecasting and Labor Generation Required. This indicates your location uses Labor Optimization (formerly Activity Base Forecasting), which in some cases requires a forecast and/or labor to be generated before the schedule can be started.
Identifying when Forecasting and/or Labor Generation is Required
The setting prevents edits to a schedule until one or both of these actions are taken:
- A forecast is generated for the same week on the Forecasting tab
- Labor is generated for the same week on the Forecasting tab
When navigating to a week where these requirements have not been met, these warnings will appear to direct you to the Forecasting tab.

Edits cannot be saved on a locked schedule until the forecast requirements are met. A similar error message will display if you attempt to assign a shift to an employee on that schedule.

You can review which schedules have these settings enabled on the Store settings page. See HS Store Settings: Schedules (Add and Edit and Inactivate) for more information about that section.

Does anyone know of a work around for including manager salaried hours into the forecast model?
