ASC Pay Exception Hierarchy Modifications
- Enabled by default? - Yes
- Set up by customer admin? - No
- Enable via support ticket? - No
- Affects configuration or data? - Yes
- Roles affected: - ASC User
What's Changing?
New Pay Exceptions created by a user at a node in the ASC hierarchy will only be visible to that user and any parent node user. This only applies to newly added pay exceptions.
Reason for the Change
This change was made to limit the view and access of pay exceptions to assigned stores based on the creator’s node in the ASC hierarchy, which is the same pattern that is in place for Minor Rules, Labor Rules, and Meal and Break Planning.
Customers Affected
Only affects customers who use pay exceptions for predictability pay and who allow users within a node in the hierarchy to configure their own Pay Exceptions.
Release Note Info/Steps
This change is enabled by default as part of the release.
Update Predictability Pay Rules and Work Variance to Support Shift Start and/or End Time
- Enabled by Default? - No
- Set up by customer Admin? - Yes
- Enable via Support ticket? - Yes
- Affects configuration or data? - Yes
- Roles Affected: - All Employees
What's Changing?
Pay Exceptions and Work Variance for Predictability Pay now support the ability to configure the grace period based on the shift start and/or shift end time, as well as the existing total shift duration.
Examples: The Predictability Pay exception is configured to allow 20 minutes grace for the shift start and or end time and the employee is scheduled for a shift of 9am to 5pm.
- Clock in 8:40am , clock out at 5:20pm - No Predictability Pay
- Clock in 9:20am , clock out at 5:20pm - No Predictability Pay
- Clock in 9:20am , clock out at 4:40pm - No Predictability Pay
- Clock in 9:21am , clock out at 5:00pm – Predictability Pay owed
- Clock in 8:39am , clock out at 5:20pm – Predictability Pay owed
The above scenarios only apply for customers using HotSchedules Time and Attendance and present as a pending Work Variance Pay Exceptions. Clocking in for a different job from that which was scheduled will not result in a work variance.
Schedule edits are not covered by this enhancement. Edits to the posted schedule within the Advance Notice Period will still require the selection of a reason code and if configured, consent from the employee to the schedule change.
Employees who clock out for meals as if ending their shift rather than selecting Meal as the punch option and then clock back in within 60 minutes will not have a work variance under this rule. Gaps of 61 minutes or more will result in two separate shifts and work variances.
Reason for the Change
Philadelphia’s provision for Predictability Pay allows for shifts to have up to 20 minutes of grace based on BOTH the scheduled shift start time AND or end time.
Customers Affected
Customers with locations in Philadelphia.
