What's Changing?
Additional information about compatible web browsers is being added to the WFM UK login page.
Reason for the Change
To give users information and clarity about the browser they are using and its compatibility with WFM UK.
Customers Affected
All customers using WFM UK in either the existing or new user interface.
Release Notes
When logging into WFM UK using a username and password (not Single Sign-On), the login page displays a small 'Browser Requirements' section.
The login page will now recognise the browser that is being used and confirm to the user its compatibility.
A browser can either be:
Supported Browsers
Supported browsers are the ones that Fourth consider when testing changes made to any of the pages within WFM UK. Only desktop versions of the browsers are officially supported.
- When using Windows
- Microsoft Edge
- Microsoft Edge (IE Compatibility Mode)
- Chrome
- Safari
- Firefox
- When using MacOS
- Safari
When using a supported browser, the browser details will be displayed in green - see Fig.1.

When a user selects the i 'info' button, they will see confirmation that they are using a supported browser (Fig.2).

Unsupported Browsers
Users can log into WFM UK using unsupported browsers, but Fourth cannot guarantee that all functionality will work as expected.
Some examples of unsupported browsers are:
- When using Windows
- Opera
- When using MacOS
- Chrome
- Firefox
- Edge
- When using any mobile device
- Chrome
- Firefox
- Edge
- Safari
- When using Linux
- Chrome
- Firefox
- Edge
When using an unsupported browser, the browser details will be displayed in amber - see Fig.3.

When a user selects the i 'info' button, they will see more information about the issues that may arise by using an unsupported browser (Fig.4).

Restricted Browsers
Users attempting to log in using any browser that is not listed as 'Supported' or 'Unsupported' will be restricted.
When using a restricted browser, the browser details will be displayed in red - see Fig.5.

When a user selects the i 'info' button, they will see a notification that explains that their browser cannot be used - Fig.6.

Single Sign-On (SSO)
Users accessing WFM UK via SSO will see no changes to their experience if using either a supported or unsupported browser.
If an SSO user tries to access WFM UK using a restricted browser, the message shown below in Fig.7 will be displayed.
