Overview
The 'Bulk Editing Recipes' tool allows for a limited range of the most commonly used fields (recipe names, descriptions, codes, flags and categories) to be updated for multiple recipes in one go.

Bulk Editing Recipes
- Go to the Admin tab
- Use the Select drop-down option and choose Tools

Use the Scope, Recipe Type and Search Text fields to find the required recipes
- As of 15th October 2025, the default Recipe Type will be Standard, and the Recipe Type of Standard/Batch/Choice/Option is required to access the category update options on Step 4
- Select Next (bottom right corner)

- Select individual recipes or use the top box to select all
- Select Next

The ‘Edit Recipe Fields’ screen will then display (step 3 in the process), with the selected recipes listed.
- Edit the recipes as required

As shown on the Recipe > Details sub tab:
- Recipe Name
- Short Name
- Description
- Menu Description
- Internal Code
- External Code

As shown on the Recipe > Ingredients sub tab:
- Suggested PLU
- Pending Sell Price (inc.)
- Pending Sell Price (inc.) Effective Date
- To change a field for a particular recipe, select the relevant column (i.e., the specific field) and row (i.e., the specific recipe), e.g. Fig.5 shows ‘Short Name’ for recipe ‘20175 BURGER Chicken'
- Select Next to continue

The ‘Bulk Edit Recipes’ tab will display (step 4 in the workflow). On this tab, it is possible to:
- Update the Flags, add/swap/delete a Category or change the Flag Expiry Date for all selected recipes as appropriate
Please Note: For successful data synchronisation with Fourth's Inventory solution, only one Smart Category should be applied to a recipe. Smart categories are identifiable by the Globe icon next to their names in the list of Category Type names.

Within the Bulk Edit Recipes screen, a SMART category will be indicated by the text (SMART) after the category type name in the 'Category type' selection field.
Only one category operation can be selected at a time.,
- When ready, select Next

The ‘Confirmation’ tab will then display.
- Review any changes made and select Confirm to proceed or Back to alter changes without saving

The ‘Summary’ tab will display.
- View all confirmed changes. Any unsuccessful ones will be listed with a reason
- Then select Finish to return to the ‘Tools’ screen
