Overview
The Top Ingredients Report is used to identify the most used ingredients in Recipes based on the Outlet Sales of the Recipes.
This article describes how to run the Top Ingredients Report, and also contains further information of the fields returned in each stage of the process.
Running the Top Ingredients Report
- To run this report, go to Report Center > Report Module: Recipe > Top Ingredients
- To open the report criteria screen, double-click Top Ingredients, or select Top Ingredients and then Run Report, as per Fig.1

Report Criteria:
- Enter the required criteria for the report to return the desired results (further information on the fields required is detailed below)

Field | Description |
From Date | Enter the start date of the desired date range for the report |
To Date | Enter the ending date of the desired date range for the report |
Outlets | In the Outlet list, select the required Outlet |
Report Type | Top Quantities: Generates the report with the most used ingredients in Recipes based on Recipe Sales in descending order, based on the Quantity of ingredient used Top Volumes: Generates the report with the most used ingredients in Recipes based on Recipe Sales in descending order, based on the Total Cost of the ingredient used |
Number of Products | Enter the total number of Products required |
All Outlets Together | If Ticked: One report will be generated summarising the total ingredients across the selected Outlets. If not Ticked: An individual report will be generated for each selected Outlet |
Report Results
When the Top Ingredients Report is generated, the result should look similar to Fig.3.

Field | Description |
Top Grey Row | Identifies that the report is generated with the All Outlets Together box ticked If this setting has not been ticked, the row will indicate which Outlet is being reported on |
Product Column | The Purchasing & Inventory Product number of the ingredient |
Product Description Column | The Purchasing & Inventory Product name of the ingredient |
Unit Column | The Inventory Unit of the Product |
Quantity Column | The quantity of the Product which has been used in Recipes based on Outlet sales |
Total Cost Column | The valuation of the quantity used, based on the valuation method used |
Outlet Total Sales | Represents the total amount of sales from the POS feed which was used to generate the report |
