Recipe Summary Analysis Report
The Recipe Summary Analysis Report is used to analyse the cost, price, and cost of sales % of recipes in the database.
- To run this report, go to Report Center > Report Module: Recipe > Recipe Summary Analysis
- To open the report criteria screen, double-click Recipe Summary Analysis or select the report and select Run Report, as per Fig.1

Report Criteria
- Enter report criteria below to get desired results, as per Fig.2

Fields | Description |
Report Type |
Summary: Generates a report with all recipes for the selected criteria. Report includes cost of recipe, selling price, and cost of sales percentage for selected criteria.
Recipe Ingredient Label Report: Generates a report of ingredient labels that contain detailed information about the specific recipe

Summary Options | Food Cost % High to Low: Sorts selection criteria from high to low based on food cost %. Food Cost % Low to High: Sorts selection criteria from low to high based on food cost %. |
Selection Criteria | Selected Recipe: Generates a report for a selected recipe. Selected Categories: Generates a report for all recipes within the selected category. All Categories: Generates a report for all recipes sorted by category and sub category. |
Outlets | Select single, multiple or all outlets. Note: If selecting more than one outlet, un-tick the Hide Default Selling Prices box below the Outlet selection drop-down. |
Report Results
When the Recipe Summary Analysis Report is generated with report type: Summary chosen, the result should look similar to Fig.3.

Columns | Description |
Recipe Number | System-defined number of the recipe. |
Recipe Name | User-defined name of the recipe. |
Portions | User-defined no. of portions in the recipe. |
Portion Size | User-defined portion size in the recipe. |
Portion Unit | User-defined portion size unit of measure in the recipe. |
Cost | Auto-calculated cost per serving based on: The amount entered under the Quantity and Yield % columns, the Unit chosen in the recipe, and the Current Cost of the item/recipe. Note: the costing method is defined in Property > Administration > Property Preferences > Inventory > Valuation Method. |
Selling Price | User-defined selling price of the item. |
Cost (%) | Cost % = cost per serving *100 / default selling price. |
PLU | Code assigned to the item in the POS system that is linked to the recipe. |
When generating the Recipe Summary Analysis Report with report type “Detailed” chosen, the result should look similar to Fig.4.

Columns | Description |
Header: Recipe Number | System-defined number of the recipe. |
Header: Prepared Quantity | User defined total quantity the recipe will create. |
Header: Portion Size | User defined Portion Size of the recipe. |
Header: Servings | Calculation: Servings = Prepared Quantity / Portion Size. |
Header: Cost/ Serving | Auto-calculated cost per serving based on: The amounts entered under the Quantity and Yield % columns, the Unit chosen in the recipe, and the Current Cost of the item/ recipe. *Note: costing method is defined in Property > Administration > Property Preferences > Inventory >Valuation Method. |
Header: Cost (%) | Cost % = Cost per serving *100 / Default Selling Price. |
Header: Selling Price(s) | User defined selling prices of the recipe. |
Ingredient | System defined number of the product. |
Name | Name of product. |
Type | Either Product or Recipe. |
Quantity | Amount of the product/ recipe to be used in the recipe. |
Unit | Unit of measure associated with the quantity being used in the recipe. |
Yield | The amount of product that remains in the finished recipe after prepping and cooking. |
Cost | Auto-calculated cost of ingredient in the recipe based on: The amounts entered under the Quantity and Yield % columns, the Unit chosen in the recipe, and the Current Cost of the item/ recipe. *Note: costing method is defined in Property > Administration > Property Preferences > Inventory >Valuation Method. |
Cost (%) | Cost % = Cost per serving *100 / Default Selling Price. |
When generating the Recipe Summary Analysis Report with “Recipe Images Only” Report Type chosen, the result should look similar to Fig.5
