SSN Unavailable Workflow Update
- Enabled by default? - Yes
- Set up by customer admin? - No
- Enable via support ticket? - No
- Affects configuration or data? - No
- Roles affected: - All applicants.
What's Changing?
During onboarding, the "Applied for SSN" checkbox will no longer be available requiring new hires to enter their Social Security Number. If the new hire does not have a Social Security Number, they will be redirected to their manager for assistance.
Managers will also have a new button available to indicate a Social Security Number is not available for a new hire.
Using this option will allow the employee to complete onboarding without a Social Security Number and will provide the manager a new onboarding step to enter the value.
Reason for the Change
- Research found more than 98% of employees using this checkbox did have a Social Security Number but used this as a work around to not enter it causing downstream errors.
- Prevent integration errors.
- Ensure payroll can be successfully processed.
- Improve efficiency with E-Verify cases.
- Reduce managers need to follow up with employees in regards to Social Security Numbers.
Customers Affected
All customers using Onboarding module.
