Overview
HotSchedules provides system-configured overtime rules for supported jurisdictions. Organizations can also create Custom OT Rules in the Above Store Console (ASC) to define their own daily and weekly overtime thresholds and pay multipliers.
Custom OT Rules can be configured with:
A daily overtime threshold and pay multiplier
A weekly overtime threshold and pay multiplier

Create a Custom Overtime Rule
To create a Custom OT Rule:
- In the Above Store Console, hover over Time & Attendance
- Select Pay Rules
- Select Add Pay Rule
- From the rule type menu, select Custom OT Rule.
- Select Create
The Edit Overtime Pay Rule page displays, where you can configure the applicable information for the custom rule:
- Rule Name: Enter a name that identifies the rule
- Description: Enter an optional description of the rule or its intended use
- Configure the applicable overtime thresholds:

Daily Overtime
- After: Enter the number of hours in a day after which overtime applies
- Pay Multiplier: Enter the multiplier applied to overtime hours

Weekly Overtime
- After: Enter the number of hours in a week after which overtime applies
- Pay Multiplier: Enter the multiplier applied to overtime hours

Daily Overtime
- Select Save when the rule configuration is complete.
Example: A rule may be configured with Daily Overtime after 8 hours and Weekly Overtime after 40 hours, each with a 1.5 pay multiplier. The configured multiplier is applied to applicable overtime hours after the corresponding threshold is reached.
Edit an Existing Custom Overtime Rule
To review or update an existing custom overtime rule:
- In the Above Store Console, hover over Time & Attendance
- Select Pay Rules
The Pay Rules page displays all system and custom overtime rules.
- Select a custom rule name from the list to view or edit its configuration
- Select Save when your changes are complete
Custom rules can also be deleted from the Action menu on this page.
Note: System overtime rules can be viewed but cannot be edited or deleted.
