No, the system will not allow you to change the Pay Type on a current position from Salaried to Hourly or Hourly to Salaried.
As a workaround, you can consider the following: create a new job with the updated Pay Type.
For the Current Job:
-
-
- Change the title. Examples: General Manager - Deprecated or General Manager - ZZZ.
- Turn the status to Off.
-
Create a New Job with the updated Pay Type.
-
-
- For additional information on adding a new job, please view the following article: Administrators: Jobs: How do I add jobs? (video)
-
Update Current Employees with new Job.
-
-
- If you would like to add the newly created job to any current employees with that title, then you will want to add the new position with the new/current date and remove the old position. This will show a note that the new position was added and the old was removed which will record that the position was changed from salary to hourly.
-
Update Background Checks, if applicable.
-
-
- It is also recommended that background checks be turned off for the new position while you are updating the current employees with that title (if you choose to do that).
