    New Release | Scheduling: Restrict Student Visa Employee hours on a Monday–Sunday Week Regardless of Business Week Start Day | 23 July 2026

    • Student Visa Hour Calculations to Use Calendar Weeks
      Scheduling will now enforce student hour restrictions based on a fixed Monday–Sunday calendar week, regardless of the site's configured week start day. Previously, student weekly hour limits were calculated relative to the site's week start day, which could lead to inconsistent enforcement of working hour restrictions for students. With this change, student hour caps are always measured across the standard Monday–Sunday calendar week, ensuring consistent and compliant scheduling of student employees across all site configurations. 

      The change is implemented to align with UKVI Legislation as per which 'Week' means a period of 7 days beginning with a Monday. Learn more.

    Whilst we support the move to a consistent Monday to Sunday compliance calculation, the change has introduced a disconnect between the hours managers see, the hours employees see on their payslips, and the hours the system uses for validation.

    Without additional reporting, visibility and manager guidance, we believe there is a risk of increased operational complexity, scheduling frustration and confusion for both managers and student employees.

    Could Fourth please advise:

    1. What manager-facing reports and tools are currently available?
    2. Whether additional on-screen visibility is planned?
    3. What best practice you would recommend for organisations operating alternative business weeks?

    Hi, 

    We are planning to add on screen visibility in the coming weeks. We will publish a release note prior to deployment. In the mean time we will be collecting feedback on what may be useful to be visualized.

    This is not a solution and is causing real operational difficulty - you shouldn't have just changed it without speaking to your customers. The solution should fit the customers needs - not the solutions.

    Sorry it took a bit of time to get back to you. 

    The change was not driven by the solution but was to align with legislation. 
    As per UKVI Legislation: 'Week' means a period of 7 days beginning with a Monday. Learn more.
    We have updated the release note to reflect this.

    We looking at ways to reduce the operational strain this may cause you.
