What's New in the Fourth iQ App
This release introduces two powerful new features that enhance how you interact with actions and alerts in the Fourth iQ App, giving you more control over feedback and reducing alert clutter.
🎯 Feature 1: User Feedback on Closed Actions & Read Alerts
You can now provide feedback on actions and alerts, and after they've been completed or read, allowing you to reflect on the value of recommendations once you've experienced their outcomes.
Key Features
📝 Feedback on Closed Actions
- Feedback: Provide feedback on actions
- Post-completion feedback: Provide feedback on archived actions at any time within the 14-day retention window
- Simple interaction: Tap to rate whether the recommendation was helpful with Yes/No response options
- Optional keywords: Select from predefined keywords to describe your experience (e.g., "Effective", "Helpful", "Not relevant")
- Free-text comments: Add optional detailed feedback to explain your rating
💬 Feedback on Read Alerts
- Alert feedback: Share whether alert notifications were valuable when and after marking them as read
- Same familiar interface: Uses the same feedback flow as actions for consistency
- Quick submission: Provide feedback directly from the closed alerts view
How It Works
For Open/Not Expired Actions:
- Navigate to the Action Center and select the Open or Closed tab
- Open an action card (closed or open)
- Under Was this recommendation helpful?, tap Yes or No
- Optionally select keywords or add a comment
- Submit your feedback
For Read/ Not Read Alerts:
- View your alerts in the Action Center
- Open an alert (read or not read/closed)
- The feedback section appears below the alert details
- Provide your rating and optional feedback
- Submit to complete
Web App:
- Feedback section integrated into the action/alert detail view
- Toast messages confirm successful or failed submissions
- Feedback persists and shows as submitted on subsequent views
Important Notes
- Feedback can only be submitted once per action or alert
- Previously submitted feedback is displayed as read-only
- Feedback is used to improve recommendation quality and is stored securely
⏰ Feature 2: Optional Expiry for Alerts
Alerts can now include an optional expiry date and time, automatically moving expired alerts to your Archive so you only see what's currently relevant.
Key Features
🕐 Expiry Time Display
- "Expires in X days": When an alert has an expiry date, you'll see the remaining time displayed
- Precise countdown: When less than 24 hours remain, the format switches to show the exact time: "Expires Today at HH:MM" (e.g., "Expires Today at 09:55")
- Visual indicator: Expiry information appears prominently on alert cards
📁 Automatic Archival
- Auto-archive on expiry: When an alert reaches its expiry date/time, it automatically moves to your Archive
- Clear labelling: Expired alerts in Archive are tagged with "Alert Expired" and show the expiry timestamp
- 14-day retention: Expired alerts remain in Archive for 14 days for reference before being permanently removed
🔄 Closure Status Display
- Closed Alert indicators: When viewing a closed/expired alert, the closure information moves to a block at the bottom of the card
- Status clarity: Shows whether the alert was:
- Mark as Read - User manually closed the alert
- Alert Expired - System automatically closed due to expiry
How It Works
For Open Alerts:
- Alerts with expiry dates show remaining time: "Expires in 3 days" or "Expires Today at 14:30"
- Continue to work with alerts normally - read, act, or dismiss as needed
- If you don't interact before expiry, the alert automatically archives
For Expired Alerts:
- Navigate to the Action Center > Closed tab
- Expired alerts appear with the "Alert Expired" label in a highlighted block
- The expiry timestamp is displayed (e.g., "User · Today, 1:18pm")
- You can still view full alert details and provide feedback
What You'll See
Alert Card - With Expiry (Mobile & Web):
Closed Alert - Expired:
Web:
Alert Expiry Behaviour
| Scenario | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Alert with expiry date | Shows countdown, auto-archives when expired |
| Alert without expiry date | Stays active until manually read (current behavior) |
| Expired alert in Archive | Shows "Alert Expired" label with timestamp |
| Manual close before expiry | Shows "Mark as Read" with closure timestamp |
Important Notes
- Expiry is optional - alerts without expiry dates behave as they always have
- The expiry time is set by the alert creator
- Expired alerts are not lost - they're preserved in Archive for 14 days
- This feature helps reduce alert fatigue, especially when returning from time away
📊 Combined View Updates
Both features work together seamlessly in the Action Center:
- Open tab: Shows active actions and alerts with feedback capabilities (with expiry countdowns where applicable)
- Closed tab: Shows completed/archived items with feedback capabilities and closure status indicators
