What’s New?
- Multi-Factor Authentication
Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) provides an additional layer of security for Fourth accounts by requiring users to authenticate using two factors: something they know (password) and something they have (an authenticator app). This ensures enhanced protection for user accounts
To have MFA enabled, please liaise with your Fourth Customer Success Manger.
Key Features:
- TOTP Authentication Setup:
- Users can set up Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) authentication using an authenticator app (e.g., Microsoft Authenticator)
- A QR code or manual code is provided for easy setup
- Biometric authentication (e.g., face ID, fingerprint) is optionally available for supported devices
- Subsequent Logins:
- After setup, users must provide a TOTP code along with their password for every login.
- The Fourth iOS/Android app allows seamless login without re-entering MFA credentials, leveraging biometric factors for added security
User Guide Highlights:
- First-Time Setup:
Log in using your Fourth account credentials.
- Follow the prompts to download an authenticator app or use an existing one.
3. Scan the QR code or manually enter the code into the app.
4. Enter the generated TOTP code in the Fourth app to complete verification.
5. Optionally enable biometric authentication for supported devices.
- Subsequent Logins:
- Enter your password and the TOTP code from the authenticator app to log in
- For the Fourth mobile app, biometric authentication can be used instead of re-entering MFA credentials
- Resetting Multi-Factor Authentication
- To change/replace your MFA device, log in and go to your profile section
- Select Reset Multi-Factor Authentication
- Select Yes in the acknowledgement window that opens
When the reset is completed, you will be logged out and can start the MFA setup journey again from the beginning.
