The Bulk Events page allows for authorized above-store users, e.g. regional or at Head Office, to easily make the same adjustments to the forecast for multiple locations.
- Select the Bulk Events icon from the left side menu (see Fig.1)
Like the main Forecast Manager dashboard, the Bulk Events page is broken into the following sections:
- Header
- Filters
- Events summary
- To create an event across multiple locations, select Create New Event
This will open a side drawer (Fig.2) requiring the properties of the event to be recorded. The example below demonstrates a new vs. a complete event.
- Select an Event Category and give it a Name
- Days - the days the event will be applied to. When navigating from week view, these will be all future dates for the selected week; from day view, a single date can be selected
- Times - the time range of the event. Based on customer and location configuration, this section may also include the specific 'day parts' that a customer uses
- Forecast Adjustment
- Adjustment Volume - the forecast volume for which the adjustment is specified. This will default to the active forecast volume
- Adjustment Type - select either:
- Percent Adjustment - allows for a percentage increase/decrease to be set
or - Value Adjustment - allows for a value increase/decrease to be set, e.g. dollar adjustment.
For Value Adjustment, there are two methods of distribution:- Even - the adjustment is evenly spread across the days/intervals/revenue centers specified
or - Weighted - the adjustment is proportionally spread across the days/intervals/revenue centers relative to the base forecast value
- Even - the adjustment is evenly spread across the days/intervals/revenue centers specified
- Percent Adjustment - allows for a percentage increase/decrease to be set
- Then select Next
In the next step, specify for which locations to apply the event (Fig.3).
Once a new bulk event has been created, a visual prompt will alert location-level managers that there is a new bulk event that they need to review and apply to their location’s forecast - see Fig.4.
This lets location managers decide whether to apply the bulk event’s proposed adjustment to their local forecast.
Bulk Event Filters
Within the Bulk Events page, there are filters (Fig.5) that can be applied to control the data displayed, these are:
- Event Name - the name of the event the user is searching for
- Volume - the forecast volumes for which the event is applied
- Week - allows selection of the desired date/range
Bulk Events List
Below the filters section, a table presents information on the events created for the week volume type selected (Fig. 6).
There is an indication as to the category of the event, the type of the adjustment and the number of locations to which the event is applied.
- To see all details for a specific event (Fig.7), select the event
For events that have been created through the 'Add Event' flow, these can be edited or deleted, provided they have not yet started.
- Use the three-dot icon as shown in Fig.8 and then Edit Event
The event right-side drawer will appear, populated with the event details.
- Make changes as required and then Save Adjustments
