There are three forecast actions (Fig.1) that can be taken within Forecast Manager:
Sync Forecast
This action is taken after making forecast adjustments (events) in Forecast Manager. Syncing the forecast applies the changes to other consuming Fourth products. In this case, HotSchedules.
- When all forecast adjustments have been made, select Sync Forecast
A dialog box will display (Fig.2) to confirm that you want to send the forecast for the selected week.
- To process, select Sync Forecast
The adjusted forecast values are then sent and are available and consistent in the core product (HotSchedules), usually within seconds.
The ability to edit forecasting data in HotSchedules will not be possible.
Lock Forecast
This action allows users to create a forecast 'snapshot', which is locked in the database, including a timestamp and user ID for support of future auditing. Once a forecast has been locked, further adjustments are prevented unless it is explicitly unlocked or reset.
- Use the Forecast Actions drop-down and select Lock Forecast
- To proceed, select Lock Forecast from the pop-up
Once a forecast has been locked, any further adjustments can only be made once it is unlocked, as shown onscreen (Fig.4 & 5).
- To unlock the forecast, use the Forecast Actions drop-down and select Unlock Forecast
Reset Forecast
When selecting Reset Forecast, a prompt will indicate that the forecast values will be reset to the current system forecast values.
- To proceed, select Reset Forecast
This is an irreversible action that will remove user-created events.
