- Enable via support ticket? - No
- Affects configuration or data? - No
What's Changing?
An 'Order comments' field is now available on the 'Cart' page of the Ordering app.
Reason for the Change
To increase efficiency by removing the need to telephone or email a supplier to add special instructions to an order/requisition.
Customers Affected
All customers using the Ordering app. The new field is available on both desktop and mobile devices.
Depending on the format that your suppliers choose to receive their purchase orders in, they may not receive or see your comments.
Release Note Info/Steps
- As shown in Fig.1, select Add order comments from the 'Cart' page
Fig. 1 - 'Add order comments' button on the Cart page
- Type your comments into the field that appears
Fig. 2 - Order comments field
For Adaco users, the Order comments will go to all suppliers that receive the Purchase Order. For Trade Simple and Inventory users, there is a separate comment field for each supplier. The supplier(s) will need to support a 'comments' field in their system that receives electronic orders to see them.
If the cart will be converted to a requisition (Inventory or Adaco only), the comments will appear on the resulting requisition.
If the user navigates away from this page after entering text:
- For Trade Simple users - the text will be saved and will be displayed the next time the 'Cart' page is loaded
- For Inventory/Adaco users - the text is not saved
For long messages, the text box will expand automatically.
Adding a comment in the mobile app is the equivalent to adding a comment within the core application.
For Adaco and Inventory, the checked-out basket could become a supplier purchase order or an internal requisition. In either case, the comment will be shown as if it had been entered in the core application.
