Fourth Analytics: Inventory Dashboards (Paid vs Ordering, YOY Price Variance, Order Details)

Paid vs Ordered Tab

The Paid vs Ordered tab compares the price paid on supplier invoices against the price on the original purchase order, for products that appear on both, so that price variances driven by unit price rather than volume can be identified and investigated.

This tab includes:

• Filters for organisational hierarchy, location, stock location, cost centre, category groupings, product, supplier, date, PO number and document ID
• A Price Trend chart showing the trend in the invoiced price variance against the ordered price across periods
• A Paid +/- Ordered panel summarising the total value Paid Less and Paid More than ordered and the net position, noting that only products on both the PO and the invoice are compared, and that variances driven purely by a change in volume rather than unit price are excluded
• A More or Less than Ordered panel with trend charts of the value paid less and paid more than ordered over time
• A Price Paid vs Ordered panel showing the amount paid less or more than ordered by location and by supplier

• A By Product detail table listing, for each PO line, the unit of measure, price variance, percentage variance, and the paid, PO, invoice and credit note quantities and values

  

YOY Price Variance Tab

The YOY Price Variance tab compares prices paid for products this year against the same products’ weighted average price twelve months prior, highlighting where cost inflation or savings are having the biggest impact on spend.

This tab includes:

• Filters for organisational hierarchy, location, stock location, cost centre, category groupings, product, supplier and business date
• A Number of Products Purchased panel comparing the count of products purchased this year, twelve months prior, and in both years, alongside invoiced value for the current year and prior twelve months
• A Paid +/- than P12M Price panel summarising the total value paid less and paid more than the twelve-month-prior price and the net position
• A Top 10 YOY Price Variance panel showing the biggest price increases and decreases by location and by product
• A YOY Price Comparison by Main Category table and a YOY Price Comparison by Supplier table, each comparing invoiced value this year against last year and the resulting paid-less/paid-more variance

• A YOY Price Comparison by Product detail table showing quantity purchased this year and last year, current and prior weighted average price, the price and percentage variance, and the resulting paid-less/paid-more value, with a drill-through to see the breakdown of orders made this year and last year

  

Order Details Tab

The Order Details tab provides access to the full, unaggregated order status data that underpins the rest of the Purchasing dashboard, for users who need to export raw data for further analysis outside of Fourth Analytics.

This tab includes:

• Filters for organisational hierarchy, location, stock location, cost centre, category groupings, product, supplier, date, document type, status, PO number and document ID
• An Order Status report which, due to its size, is not displayed on-screen by default; users can select Export raw data to download the full underlying data set for the filters applied
