- Changes to Employment Allowance & Employer Payment Summary
Since 6th April 2025, Employment Allowance is no longer treated as ‘De Minimis State Aid’. The £100,000 Class 1 secondary NICs restriction was removed from the system ahead of this date, but further changes now apply:- Customers using the system no longer need to select their industry when updating Employment Allowance details, and a new confirmation message is displayed upon saving updates
- Employer Payment Summary (EPS) RTI files have also been updated to remove data that HMRC no longer requires or accepts under the revised rules, ensuring that unnecessary data is no longer recorded and sent to HMRC

This change requires no action on the part of customers or users.
When navigating to Payroll > Administration > Company Set Up > Select Company, there was an option to select an Industrial Sector after enabling Claim Employment Allowance.
This has now been removed, as it is no longer necessary to select and report to HMRC.
When making changes to the Company Details page, users will be presented with this updated message:
