⚙️ E-Verify Actions
Confirm E-Verify Data
When this alert happens:
E-Verify returned a “Confirm Data” status for one of your new hires. This means there may be an error on their I-9 that needs review.
Why it matters:
Reviewing and correcting these cases keeps your business compliant and prevents costly government fines.
What you will see:
An alert titled “Confirm E-Verify Data” with the employee’s name, location, and a link to their E-Verify case.
What you need to do:
Tap Manage E-Verify Case to review and confirm the data.
Review E-Verify Tentative Nonconfirmation (TNC)
When this alert happens:
E-Verify flagged an employee’s record with a Tentative Nonconfirmation (TNC), meaning their information didn’t match government records.
Why it matters:
You must respond quickly to TNCs to stay compliant and protect the employee’s work eligibility.
What you will see:
An alert showing the employee’s name, hire date, and a link to manage the E-Verify case.
What you need to do:
Open the case, review the details, and either correct, close, or refer it to DHS or SSA.
Review E-Verify Final Nonconfirmation
When this alert happens:
An employee’s E-Verify case has reached Final Nonconfirmation. DHS or SSA could not confirm their work eligibility.
Why it matters:
You must take action—either terminate the employee or correct their I-9 and submit a new case—to stay compliant.
What you will see:
An alert showing the employee’s name, location, and a link to the E-Verify case.
What you need to do:
Select Manage E-Verify Case to review and complete final steps.
Review Duplicate E-Verify Case
When this alert happens:
E-Verify found that a case for one of your employees may be duplicated.
Why it matters:
Duplicate cases can cause compliance errors if not handled quickly.
What you will see:
An alert listing the employee’s name and case details with a link to E-Verify.
What you need to do:
Review the duplicate case and choose the correct next step—continue, close, or send to the employee for updates.
Identify E-Verify Photo Match
When this alert happens:
E-Verify asks you to confirm that the photo in the system matches the employee’s ID document.
Why it matters:
Photo matching ensures the documents provided are genuine and meet DHS standards.
What you will see:
An alert with the employee’s name and a link to view their photo in E-Verify.
What you need to do:
Compare the photo with the employee’s document and confirm if they match.
📝 I-9 Actions
Complete Section 1 of the I-9
When this alert happens:
A new hire hasn’t completed Section 1 of the I-9 before their start date.
Why it matters:
The I-9 must be completed within three days of the employee’s start date to meet federal compliance.
What you will see:
An alert showing the employee’s name, start date, and a Remind Employee button.
What you need to do:
Tap Remind Employee to send a reminder email. Once onboarding is complete, the action will close automatically.
Complete Section 2 of the I-9
When this alert happens:
An employee has finished onboarding, and it’s time for you to complete Section 2 of the I-9.
Why it matters:
Section 2 verifies identification and must be completed within three business days of the employee’s start date.
What you will see:
An alert with the employee’s name, start date, and a deep link to the I-9 form.
What you need to do:
Select Complete Section 2 to open the I-9 workflow and finalize verification.
Reverify I-9 Employment Authorization
When this alert happens:
An employee’s work authorization or verification document expires within seven days.
Why it matters:
You must reverify before expiration to remain compliant and avoid penalties.
