Overview
Market lists are made up of items that are regularly ordered, which helps to simplify and speed up the ordering process. The Ordering app allows users to create and manage their own market lists, which can then be shared with others at the same Location if needed.
This article shows how to create, edit, copy, and delete market lists.
For more information on placing orders in the Ordering app, please see Inventory Restaurants Mobile: Ordering app: Placing Orders.
Creating a New Market List
- Open the Ordering app and select a Location
- Go to Market Lists
- Select Manage Market Lists
- To create a new market list, select +New from the top right corner
- Enter a name for the market list
- Choose if the market list will be Shared with other users at the Location (these users will then be able to use and modify the market list)
- Search for a product to add and hit enter
-
Select Add for each product to include them in the market list
- Added products can also be removed from this screen
The products will be added to the market list immediately.
Items added to market lists will be sequenced bottom-to-top, so if referencing an existing order guide, be sure to begin from the end - though items can still be repositioned later on
- Close the search results
- At this point, it is advisable to Save the market list and then select Edit to add more products
- The market list name can be changed from here as well if needed
The new market list will appear on the left side.
Market lists are ordered alphabetically here and by creation date in the 'Manage Market Lists' page.
Labels and Repositioning Products
Labels can be used to create sections within the market list, and individual items can be dragged and dropped to new positions.
- Select Add Label
- Enter a name for the label and hit enter
- Drag and drop the label(s) into their desired position
- Repeat as necessary
- If required, drag and drop individual items to new positions
- When ready, select Save
Default Product Quantities
If a certain quantity of a product is regularly ordered, it is possible to set it as a default quantity in a market list, which can help speed up the ordering process.
- To do this, go to Manage Market Lists and select the pen icon for the required market list
- Set the default quantity for each product as needed, and then select Save
The Use Default(s) options will then be available in that market list.
Copying and Deleting Market Lists
Copying a market list will create a duplicate, which can then be edited as needed.
It may be particularly useful to create Market Lists for different days based on the default par ordering quantities, e.g. “Produce Order Sun-Wed” vs. “Produce Order Thu-Sat” where the “Thu-Sun” version has higher default quantities based on standard forecasted higher business levels.
- Within Manage Market Lists, select the copy icon against the required market list
The market list will be duplicated with the same name, with 'Copy' at the end.
- To delete a market list, use the bin icon
