Overview
This article provides the workflow for placing an order using the Ordering application. This includes finding the products, adding them to the basket and checking out.
Screenshots in this article have been taken from the Ordering app in a web browser and also on a mobile device, using 'US English' as the language setting in the Fourth app ('Vendor' instead of 'Supplier', 'Cart' instead of 'Basket', etc).
Please note: This article is relevant only for Inventory and Purchase to Pay solutions.

Placing an Order
There are three ways to find products to be ordered:
- Searching for products by name
- Searching for products by category
- Searching for products by vendor/supplier
Searching for Products by Name
- To quickly find a product by its name, use the search tool. It is displayed on top of every page in the application -see Fig.1

- Type the name of the product in the search bar and select the magnifying glass (or Enter key on the keyboard) to get the results
The page will refresh, and a list of the products with matching name(s) will appear.

Searching for Products by Category or Vendor/Supplier
- Using the left side menu, select Categories or Vendors

Select a Category or Vendor/Supplier to see all relevant available products
Categories may contain sub-categories for more refined results

Adding Products to the Basket
Products can be displayed on the page in two different ways: The Gallery view or the List view.
- These views can be selected by using the buttons shown in Fig.5
- Scroll down to see more products
Products are added to the basket in slightly different ways depending on the view used.
Gallery View
The default option is the Gallery view. The products will be displayed with pictures and need to be added one by one.
- Specify a quantity, either by typing a number into the field or using the + and - buttons
- Select Add To Cart
Always add items to the cart/basket after selecting a quantity. When using the 'Gallery' view, scrolling down and losing sight of the product will revert quantities to '0', as will switching to 'List' view.
List View
The second option is the List view. The product list is much more compact, allowing the user to set quantities for all products and then add them to the basket in one go.
- Specify quantities for each product, either by typing a number into the field or using the + and - buttons
- Select Add All To Cart

Once the product(s) are added to the basket, a green message will appear in the bottom right corner of the page - see Fig.7.

Completing an Order
- Select the basket icon from the top-right corner

This will open the 'Shopping cart' screen in a side drawer (see Fig.9) where products are grouped by supplier.
Final modifications can be made before checking out:
- Remove all/individual products for a supplier
- Edit the quantity of products
- Select Delivery Dates
- When all product details are correct, use the Checkout Vendor button for each vendor

After checking out a vendor, a confirmation message will display, showing details about the order (see Fig.10).
- Continue using the Checkout Vendor button(s) until all orders are processed.
