Q - I have created an Absence record for a Furlough employee. Can I delete this and use the new COVID-19 option?

If the Absence/Absence Type was created to keep track of who was on Furlough status, then you can use the new functionality instead. 


Q - Does the Furlough status override any upcoming Holidays on the system, or would those have to be cancelled on the system to ensure Furlough is uninterrupted?

At this time, the Furlough status doesn’t override any Holidays which may have been booked already, nor prevent any Holiday from being booked for the Furlough period. 

We would suggest that Holiday which cannot be taken is deleted from the system, and then run the Holiday Calendar, or the Holiday Status Report to find out which employees have booked Holiday during the Furlough period. 


Q - Is there any plan to allow Holidays to carry over as per new guidelines announced last week?

There is no immediate plan, but we may look at doing some work to help customers around the carryover of Holiday. Usually we can help facilitate this through data loads, so in the short term if Holiday is required to be carried over, please speak to your CSM or CCT contact. 


Q - One of our staff is going on Maternity Leave in August. How does the first 6 weeks at 90% of average weekly earnings work as the employee is on Furlough pay?

Maternity pay has not changed, the employee is still entitled to 90% of their average weekly earnings (this is not Furloughed). 


Q - How will the sickness get recorded for employees on Furlough? Do we follow the standard sickness process?

Yes, although employees receiving SSP cannot be Furloughed during this period, they can then be Furloughed at the end of the sickness period.
