Overview
To manage seasonal workload changes, admin users can assign workload rulesets to different Departments. This self-service approach supports flexible, responsive seasonal adjustments without the need for external consultancy/manual uploads.
Workload rulesets are made up of workload rules, which will already exist in the system (having been configured by Fourth's Solution Consultancy teams).
Settings and Permissions
An organisation setting and user-level permission are required for admin users to be able to manage workload rules.
- From the Scheduling homepage, go to Settings > Organisations
- Select Edit against the required Organisation
-
Tick the box against Enable Workload Rules Set and then Save

Bulk Assign Workload Rulesets
- Export Assigned Workload Rulesets - downloads a CSV file containing the currently assigned workload rulesets
- Bulk Assign Workload Rulesets - opens a new page called 'Assign Workload Rulesets by Department' (see Fig.6) where a sample workload rulesets file can be downloaded, and a new one uploaded and assigned to multiple departments
- Workload Ruleset History - allows the download of a CSV that shows all rulesets applied to each department within a specified time frame, by which user, and when
Fig.4 - Assign Workload Rulesets
- After selecting Bulk Assign Workload Rulesets, select Download Assign Workload Rules Sample
- In the CSV file that is downloaded, use the example line and headers to enter the required information (using Excel) and then save it - be sure to remove and replace the example line
Fig.5 - Example workload ruleset CSV file
- Locate the saved CSV file using the Select a Document button and then Upload
- On the same page, to monitor the upload progress, select Ruleset Upload History

From here, the filename, uploader, upload time, completion time, current status, and any errors if the upload fails (shown in the 'Error' column - see Fig.7) are displayed.
Once a workload ruleset file is successfully uploaded, it will take effect immediately.
