Release Note Info/Steps
The National Minimum Wage Exports can help guide customers when managing National Minimum Wage compliance but do not guarantee it. For more information about the export, please see here.
There are two National Minimum Wage exports in the Payroll module. One can be run for past periods and the other can be run for the current and open payroll.
Both exports have been updated with this change.
To run the exports, go to:
- Payroll > Reports > Exports
- Select NMW/NLW for past periods or NMW/NLW for tax year 2024 (Tax year changes depending on which tax year the portal is currently in)

To check which payment types are linked to absent types, go to:
- Payroll Module > Administration > Absence Types and select an Absence Type
If Negative Payments is ticked with a selected Pay Type (as shown in Fig.2) then this payment type would have previously been excluded from the NMW Exports.

The output of the NMW Exports will now show these payments to be included in the NMW calculation (as long as they haven't also been excluded via the payment type configuration) - see Fig.3.

Please Note: The example above is from the 2023/2024 tax year, hence the NMW stating £10.42.
Before this release, the export would have returned as shown below (Fig.4), indicating no deduction from pay and no minimum wage top-up required:
