What's Changing?
The label for the Documents seen? tickbox (visible in an employee's Absence Details) is changing to:
Evidence seen? This box must be checked for sick pay to be calculated and paid, if applicable.
Reason for the Change
To make it clearer to managers that the box must be ticked in order for sick pay to be calculated and paid. This is since the change of Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) requirements for employees to provide a sick note to employers after being off sick for 7 days or more.
Customers Affected
All customers using the HR module.
Release Note Info/Steps
- Go to HR > Employees > Employee List > search for and select Employee
- Then go to Employee HR Info > Absences and select the required Absence
Before this release, the tickbox was titled Documents seen?
This box needs to be ticked in order for both SSP and Company Sick Pay (CSP) to be calculated and paid (if applicable).
Occasionally, this could cause some users to misunderstand the requirements, leading to underpayment of employees - usually when they need it the most.
