What's Changing?
The NextGen forecast has been updated to consider the Early May bank holiday, May 1st, as the basis for forecasting the King's Coronation bank holiday, May 8th.
Reason for the Change?
The King's Coronation bank holiday, May 8th, had been marked as a bank holiday in the forecast engine but as there was no corresponding bank holiday as a precedent forecast, values generated were well below those expected. Therefore the Early May bank holiday, May 1st, will be used as the basis for forecasting the King's Coronation bank holiday.
The forecast engine will take into consideration other days around it and not simply copy what happened on May 1st, self-adjusting as appropriate.
Despite the change in approach, it is recommended that managers review and adjust the forecast based on local expertise. If manager forecasts have already been generated for this date it is suggested to re-set the forecast in the forecast page of scheduling for the day.
Updated forecasts will be visible in Labour Productivity from April 28th.
