Adaco - Default GL Codes to automatically attach to an Outlet
Is there a way to have a certain outlet have a GL code default to them? Basically, I have an outlet outside of F&B that is using Food & Beverage Cost Items. The GL code on the actual item is Food Cost, so when this department orders these items, it's automatically defaulting to Food Cost, which I don't want. I want for whatever item this outlet orders to be coded to a different GL. I went to the accounting setup (Property - Setup - Accounts) and I attached the GL I want to the outlet I want. Then when I went to the Maintain Guides (Inventory - Maintain Guides) since they will have inventory, when I added the items I want, it defaulted to the normal Food Cost GL code instead of the GL Code that is attached to the Outlet and I had to change each item one by one. Is there no way to attach a GL Code to an Outlet and have everything they order default to a certain GL Code WITHOUT doing each item one by one??
If not, then what is the purpose of attaching the GL Code to an outlet under Property - Setup - Accounts?
If this is not available, this definitely should be an enhancement because all Food or Beverage items are automatically setup with the Food or Beverage Cost codes associated with it, but we have several depts like Administrative, Golf, Retail, etc....that also uses these items and there should be an "over-ride" option that says "whenever this outlet orders food cost items, OVER-RIDE the GL to a different one". I had this option in a different inventory system and it was awesome! Saved a lot of time and reclassing, etc..

In order for you to have products use specific GL accounts depending on the outlet that is being used, there are a few steps for you to follow:- Turn on 'Enable GL Accounts' setting under (Property > Administration > Property Preferences > Inventory).
This will allow products to be linked to a different GL accounts depending on the outlet it is used in.

- Turn on 'Enable Outlet Accounts' setting also under (Property > Administration > Property Preferences > Inventory).
This will allow you to restrict which GL accounts are available for a product in which outlet.

- Once those settings are enabled and you have selected which GL accounts are available for which outlets, you'll want to review your maintain guides and associate the products to their corresponding GL accounts for that outlet.
(If you setup only 1 account to an outlet, all new items that are added thereafter will be auto-assigned the only available GL account. If there is more than one GL account made available for the outlet, the product will need to be manually assigned the correct GL account).
