What are Offsets?
Offsets indicate how many days in advance a forecast was generated. Comparing offsets shows how predictions change as the forecast date approaches. Significant shifts between offsets and actual volumes can signal emerging trends, events, or new data impacting demand.
Each day, forecasts are produced for the next 56 days,
- Offset 1 — forecast for tomorrow (most recent, typically most accurate)
- Offset 7 — forecast one week ahead (moderate uncertainty)
- Offset 14 — forecast two weeks ahead (highest uncertainty among these)
By using the Offset Parent Filter, the 'Offset Trend Analysis' graph can display each of these different offset values against different volume types (or 'All' - selected in the Transaction Type filter).
Applied filters will also affect the 'All Offsets by Date and Location' table, as shown in Fig.2.
