Overview
When a new job title is required in the Workforce Management portal, a new job role needs to be created in the Scheduling module first (regardless of the Scheduling edition being used).
This allows mapping between the job title in the HR module and the job role in Scheduling, ensuring a correct setup.
Process
- Go to the Scheduling module and select any Location
- Go to the Settings tab and from the left side select Job Roles > Roles
- Select Create New
- Type in the Role Name (use the same name as the job title in HR, preferably) - there is a 45-character limit for this field
- Select the Area for the role to be active in
Areas are usually predefined during configuration and either mirror the divisions in the HR module or encompass the entire location (for the Activity-Based Scheduling version)
- Enter a 2-letter Role Symbol symbol
The symbol helps identify the job role quickly on the schedule for the Labour-Based and Revenue-Based Scheduling versions
- Select the preferred colour (as it will be displayed on the schedule)
- Then Save
