How to Set Up Username & Password Rules
- Log into Fourth’s People & Payroll solution and select the HR module from the burger menu

- Then select Administration > Global Settings

- From the options that appear select Edit Username & Password Rules

Username Rules:
- Set the Minimum number of characters in username (for all usernames)
- Tick the box if the username must not contain keywords (see example below)*.
- Tick if all usernames must contain at least one number
- Tick if all usernames must contain at least one upper case character
- Tick if all usernames must contain at least one lower case character

Examples of Keywords:
Admin, Administrator, Manager, Employee, Payroll, Superuser, Password, 12345, qwerty, Company Name, Employee’s Forename, Employee’s Surname, Employee’s date of birth (DDMMYY).

Password Rules:
- Set the Minimum number of characters in password (for all passwords)
- Tick the box if passwords must not contain keywords (see example above).
- Tick if all passwords must contain at least one number
- Tick if all passwords must contain at least one upper case character
- Tick if all passwords must contain at lease one lower case character
- Select a Password expiration time (how often passwords need to be reset)
- For security purposes, an expiration of months rather than years is recommended
