Schedule - split shifts - part work/part passive. How to confirm?

Hi

we have scheduled people on split shifts, part work and part passive (training).

Not 100% sure best way to confirm hours for the day as the T&A hours will vary slightly and we only have one in punch and one out punch.  If we accept T&A data it does not reflect the split.  If we accept Schedule it does not reflect actual hours worked.  

What is most efficient way to confirm day, thanks

Hi Kirstie, 

Are you using HotSchedules? If so, and you also have Time and Attendance, the best way to represent is to either edit the shift, changing the times and jobs. For example, employee punches 9a-5p as a server but from 1-5, they were in training. Assuming you they have a job called training, edit the 9a-5p to be 9a-1p for Server and add a punch for 1p-5p for Training. If your time clock device can support, you could do the same, where the employee physically clocks out of Server at 1p and back in as Trainer at 1P.
