Changing payroll start date is a permission on the HR Templates.

Please ensue you have the relevant permission.

You will also not be able to change the date, if the employee has been scheduled or paid.

    Kind regards

    Hi @Lavender Salisbury

We will need to look at this off the community so that we can figure out what the issue is here.

    Many thanks

    Hi @Debbie Thomas,

Is the 'Payroll Start Date' a new function, and should it be the same as the continuous service date unless we amend?

We added an employee to commence 07/01/2019 but the payroll start date showed the date added (19/12/2018), this resulted in the salary calculation being 1.44 months for January instead of 0.88. I have manually updated but wondered if a 'one off'.

Hi @Louise Wilson, this option only appeared on our portal yesterday. There is a risk of over payment with this as the payroll date defaults to the day you add the employee to the system. For example I added a new employee with a start date of 07/01/2019, the payroll start date auto populated as 20/12/2018 (date added). As they were salaried this meant the January pay was 1.44 instead of 0.88. Can the payroll start date match the continuous start date and then be amended if different?

Hi @Oliver Stockdale, the payroll start date is not a new function and it may well be the same as the continuous start date, depending upon the employees circumstance.

The Start Date should reflect the employees first day of employment at the current PAYE. This is the data that the salary will prorate from.

The continuous start date can be used if the employee has TUPE transferred from one PAYE to another to show the accurate amount of time that they have worked for the company.

    Many Thanks

    Hi Oliver,

The Payroll Start Date can be set to be a different date to the Continuous start date. The Payroll Start Date however, must always reflect the date that the employee began their employment within the PAYE. This will then control functions in the system, such as Holiday Pay etc.

    Many Thanks

    James

    Hi all

If you have continuous start date enabled, we need to raise a case to give the ability for the payroll start date to be changed.

@Las Fernando this has been done for you.

@Lavender Salisbury can you con firm if you are using Continuous Service as this may be your issue too?

    Thanks

    Debbie
