There should be push/email notifications when new shifts are posted

Hi Abby,
There may be two things here so I want to address each.
You should always get push notifications and HS Messages whenever YOUR schedule is posted, modified or deleted. Make sure those are enabled in your preferences under notifications.
As for notifications for "newly posted shifts" - We are working on functionality that will send push notifications out whenever a fellow employee releases one of their shifts. You must be able to work the same job and schedule assignment and not already be scheduled during that time period to get the notification. Picking up the shift will be the same as it is today and does require manager approval. We're also working on another new feature where you can release your shift to a specific co-worker rather than just release in hopes someone sees that and picks it up. Both of these features are targeted for Q2 so hopefully available to you by end of June, 2024.
You can always setup auto pick-ups for a given week but I know that's extra effort so I hope these new updates provide you a better user experience.

Chris,
As I already stated in this post, me and all of my coworkers have ALL notifications turned on. That still doesn’t help the case that we never know when a new shift is posted by our manager. We also CANNOT have Auto Pickup turned on because it glitches the system out entirely when our manager tries posting the schedule. Since she is adding about 45 or so shifts for the same day, same time, someone with auto pickup will end up picking up all the shifts, leaving none for any other bartender. Our manager then has to delete all the shifts and start over. We just want to be able to be notified or messaged through HS whenever our manager starts to upload shifts instead of just constantly reloading the app/web page and hoping for the best. People are getting screwed out of their livelihoods here.

Hi Abby,
Maybe there's another scenario here. Do you know why the manager is adding 45ish shifts for the same day same time? I'm guessing it's related to shifts that might be needed to work a specific event or a Predator's game. I've got a couple of other tricks up my sleeve this Monday morning. Perhaps unknown to your manager, they can select a house shift and hit the letter O on their keyboard and "offer" that shift to multiple employees at one time. This triggers a push notification to all those selected and who ever accepts the shift first, gets the shift and it's already pre-approved. We're enhancing this functionality (again targeted Q2) so the manager can bulk send one or multiple shifts out to all employees who again can work the schedule and job assignment. No approval needed unless the shift puts you into Overtime.

She’s adding so many shifts because we will have anywhere from 50-90 bartenders on shift at the same time for a concert, event or hockey game. Every one has to get there at the same time so cue the dozens of shifts posted for same day, same time. Our shifts are first come first served but she still has to go through and approve shifts. I think offering shifts to that many employees might glitch the system and have it crash on her or mess up the schedule all together. I’ll let her know and see if this fixes anything but it’s easier on her and us employees if we were just notified when she posts shifts to the schedule.
