Splitting Shifts outside of scheduling tab

This is a long shot but I wanted to see the possibility of Employees being able to give away portions of their shift on their own, without the scheduler or anyone else with access to the scheduling tab having to manually go in a split the shift.

We have several team members who give away parts of their shifts but still want to work the other part and either myself or another leader has to go in and manually split their shift in the scheduling tab. With over 100 employees this can be a never ending task that would make more sense for the team member to be able to give away parts of their shift.

Good morning Sheldon,

Thank you for your post, unfortunately users are currently not able to release a portion or certain hours of their shift to another team member. It would have to be the entire shift. If this is a common practice at your company I would recommend scheduling split shifts in the scheduler, for example an 8 AM - 5 PM shift can be broken down in two intervals 8 AM - 1 PM and then 1 PM - 5 PM. If you schedule your employees with split shifts they would be able to release the first or second shift of their choosing.

In the restaurant industry, it would be very hard to split shifts as a matter of course, when developing schedules. There are at least two "less used" schedule management apps, that I have personally tried prior to using HS, that allow this function quite simply. Maybe your development team can contact them to get some help integrating this ability into your platform. The competition is offering quite a few advances like this, that answers like this one, make you sound like you don't care to consider.
