Overview
Employees can receive their payslips physically (on paper), via email, or retrieve them via the Fourth app/ESS (Employee Self Service). This article shows how to change the payslip delivery method for individual employees and Pay Bases (affects employees created in the future).
For an Individual Employee
- Go to Payroll > Employees > Employee List > search for and select the Employee
- Then use the employee side menu and go to Payroll > Employee Payroll Info > Pay & Tax Details
- Use the Payslip Delivery Method drop-down and select either Paper, Email, or ESS
- Scroll down and Save

For a Pay Basis (affects future new employees)
The change needs to be scheduled with Fourth to ensure it is switched at the right time.
Each Pay Basis in the system has a 'Payslip Delivery Method' setting. Changing the setting at this level will mean that all new employees who are put on that Pay Basis will have that same delivery method.
- To do this, navigate to: Payroll > Administration > Company set up > Select Company > View pay basis > Select Pay Basis > Payslip Delivery Method
Please contact Fourth support before making this change, and ensure all employees have a 'Personal Email' address entered in Employee Info > Personal Details
For All Existing Employees
To discuss changing the payslip delivery method for all existing employees, please liaise with your Fourth contact.
