Service Charge Tip Pools

• Standard Tip Pools now support Service Charge as a contribution type, allowing organizations to pool and distribute service charges among eligible employees using configurable contribution percentages and job rules.

  The Tip Pooling Report also provides separate visibility into tips and service charges, including the total amount payable to each employee.

Service Charge Tip Pools

Organizations using Tip Pooling can now create Standard Tip Pools with Service Charge contributions. Service charges are sourced from employee timecards and distributed according to the configured pool rules.

Creating a Service Charge Tip Pool

To create a Service Charge Tip Pool:

1. Navigate to Tip Management > Tip Pools.
2. Select Create Pool.
3. Choose Standard as the pool type.
4. On the Contribution step, select Service Charge.
5. Configure the contribution percentage and applicable job rules.
6. Continue through the remaining pool configuration steps and save the pool.

Additional Information

• Service Charge contributions are sourced from employee timecards.
• Hours-based distribution uses Total Hours. The Time of Sale option is not available for Service Charge Tip Pools.
• Service Charge contributions are available for Standard Tip Pools only and cannot be used with Event Pools.
• Existing Tip Pools remain unchanged.

Viewing Service Charges on the Tip Pooling Report

The Tip Pooling Report displays tips and service charges separately, providing visibility into how each amount is earned, contributed, received, and paid to employees.

The report includes the following enhancements:

• Payable: Displays the total amount of tips and service charges owed to each employee after pooling.
• Earned, Contributed, and Received: Include both tips and service charges in the employee's summary amounts.
• Expanded Employee Details: Displays separate Tips and Service Charge sections, each showing its own Earned, Contributed, Received, and Payable amounts.

The Service Charge section appears only for employees with service charge or Service Charge Tip Pool activity on the selected day.
